If you write an essay in open office on your computer, save it to a pen drive or save it as an attachment on an email, can you then open the document on another computer using microsoft word?

Insert->Table in the Menu Bar for tables, brings up a menu you can format the table with
Bar graphs or any graph at all I don't know.

And, for some reason in Open Office, you cant save files in office 2007 format. If you can, can anyone tell me how? plz?
